Moses is a keen hunter and is very active in his community. Originally from Ivujivik, Moses started carving at the age of 16 in hopes of earning a living through his art and has been a carver for most of his life. Moses comes from an artistic family and learned to carve from his father-in-law, Tivi Paningayak. He was also influenced by his good friend, the renown carver Nutaraluk Iyaituk (1943-2005). His favourite subject matter is the polar bear. He has traveled widely for art events and has attended Makivik Artist Workshops in Kangiqssujuaq, Umiujaq, Kuujjuaq and Ivujivik.
